On releasing the former club captain, Ben Brown, Sussex Cricket has signed Pakistan's wicketkeeping batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, as part of the 2022 season.
The 29-year-old will arrive at the destination in early April and will take part in the County Championship and the T20 Blast till mid-July.
Brown, who himself parted ways, had two years left to run the county. Ian Salisbury, the Sussex County Championship and One-Day Cup's head coach, is disappointed and overwhelmed at the same time for bidding farewell to Brown and welcoming the world's best wicketkeeping batter to the club.
The Pakistani fans are equally delighted to see their star rising. Not only the green fans but the renowned former player from women cricket, Sarah Taylor of England is delighted to learn from Rizwan.
She took it to Twitter to appreciate Sussex's signing and said she cannot wait for more to learn from him.

Notably, she recently became the first female coach for male franchise cricket upon being signed by Abu Dhabi T20 League's Team Abu Dhabi for the 2021 season.
The 32-year old retired from international cricket in 2019 following her anxiety issues. Her recent involvement was for Welsh Fire in Women’s Hundred 2021.
