The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the six franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have mutually agreed upon adding two additional players in the Supplementary Category for the seventh edition of the marquee event set to begin from 27th January.
The PSL franchises will pick additional players in the Replacement Player Draft that is expected to take place on 7th January 2022 through an online session.
Although the teams can pick a foreign player, it opens a gateway for the local emerging youngsters to utilize the opportunities in experiencing the top-class franchise cricket and providing a platform to groom them.
Karachi Kings will have the first option to pick the first additional player, followed by Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Multan Sultans and Peshawar. This order has been decided through a random draw.
Using the reverse order format, the second picks will be as follows: Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings.
