The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to organize a closing ceremony of the Indian Premier League's ongoing edition (IPL 2022) in Ahmedabad on the grand finale day, 29th May. The reports state the BCCI will soon finalize the event management company and the rest of the details will be shared in a shorter course.
Since the COVID has taken over, the board has not conducted any opening or closing ceremony. It will be a great step in getting things back to normal since the fans have not been able to enjoy blockbuster ceremonies from the venues.
The board has also allowed a few per cent of the crowd, which is gradually rising with the passing matches. Hosting the closing ceremony will be an extra boost in favour of the event, reviving its lost colours due to COVID.
It must be noted the last two editions of the IPL were dragged to the UAE because of COVID fears. IPL 2022 has been a great success in hosting it within the realm. The current season is a 70-match contest including ten teams and is being played across four venues in Maharashtra.
According to a source,
“We are discussing to have closing ceremony this year final are in Ahmedabad and we wanted to bring the colour of IPL back so you might see closing ceremony. Idea is under process we are yet to take final call on it once decision will be taken will appoint event management company for the same,”
