Sick of leadership Jadeja gives CSK captaincy back to Dhoni

Ravindra Jadeja has given up the leadership role of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) handing it back to the ex-captain, MS Dhoni, for the remainder of the Indian Premier League's 15th edition. The all-rounder was made skipper of the team ahead of IPL 2022 after Dhoni relinquished captaincy. The development although shocked and broke the fans, but they accepted Jadeja as their new skipper with cheers.

Visibly, CSK did not have a good start to IPL 2022 facing a defeat versus the Kolkata Knight Riders in the opener. Later, the skipper was dragged in hot water on losing the six games out of eight played. So far, they have only managed to win versus Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore and now will try their luck under the 'legacy' captainship of MS Dhoni.

Notably, India's most successful skipper has been leading the Chennai side since IPL's inception in 2008. Under his regime, the team has become the second most successful, winning four trophies. The title defenders, however, have been struggling with the rough patch in the current season.

Seeking the results, Jadeja has handed over his captaincy back to Dhoni and the 40-years old has accepted it allowing the all-rounder to focus on his game. CSK, on the Twitter handle, wrote that,

Jadeja to hand over CSK captaincy back to MS Dhoni: Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game & has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest & to allow Jadeja to focus on his game.
