Pakistani captain Babar Azam has disclosed his prime goal to win two World Cup titles in the next 18 months. Revealing his dream, he stated he is looking to lift the trophies in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, and ODI World Cup 2023 in India respectively.
Notably, the men in green had a stellar T20 World Cup 2021. They thrashed away all teams in the Super 12 round, although could not tackle Australia in the semi-final clash. Once again looking forward to giving tough times to the teams, Babar is optimistic that he will achieve his goal within the next two years.
As quoted by India Today, Babar has narrated that he always wanted to become the world's number one batsman in a way that his runs help his country get all the titles. Surprisingly, his dream has come true as Babar is the ranked number one batter in ODI and T20I formats.
He further has commented that he will only consider his runs as worthy if they will help Pakistan achieve big.
“When I started playing cricket as a schoolboy the target was to play international cricket for Pakistan, become the world’s top batsman in such a manner that it helps my team to win all the titles,”
“No doubt I am enjoying my form. But with this form, my prime goal is to win the two World Cups for Pakistan in the next one-and-a-half years and if that happens I will feel that my runs are worth gold,”
