All the chit-chats on venue confirmation for the Asia Cup 2022 have come to an end since Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has finalized the decision. After the discussions took place during ICC's Annual General Meeting, it has been decided to shift the Asia Cup 2022 from Sri Lanka to the UAE.
Amidst the current political and financial instability in the island nation, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) reportedly denied hosting the event and managing multiple teams. However, it was heard that the country had got green signals from its government for hosting but awaited the ACC's final, which has now been made.
Although Sri Lanka successfully hosted Australia for a full tour, later welcoming Pakistan Cricket Team for two-match Test series, but ACC was not certain of the security in the nation following the crisis.
Asia Cup 2022 is all set to be played across UAE venues from 27th August, with the final scheduled for 11th September. It must be remembered SLC is still the host for the tournament, but in another venue.
