Indian cricketer, Suryakumar Yadav's recent performances with the bat against the West Indies, have helped him trigger his T20I rankings. He has dethroned Pakistan's wicket-keeping batter Mohammad Rizwan, overtaking the second position in ICC men's T20I rankings for batsmen.
Yadav now is only two ratings away from the world's number one T20I batter, Babar Azam. The Pakistani skipper has 818 ratings, whereas the Indian batter now has 816 ratings, making him one step closer to becoming the world's number one T20I batter, surpassing Babar.
Notably, Azam has been long-standing at the top spot in T20I rankings for batsmen more than any batter compiling all six times he has held the record. His duration is more than any cricketer, and Yadav might be the one to end his latest tenure. Azam has been in the fate for more than 10050 days.
Although Suryakumar Yadav made his T20I debut last year and has featured in 20 matches so far, his tremendous consequent performances have helped him rise in a short tenure. Thanks to the century against England last month in Nottingham. Blistering 76 against West Indies has another major role to play in lifting him up on the rankings.
With two more Ind vs WI T20Is to go, he surely has a chance to surpass the Pakistani captain to become the new number one T20I batsman.
