Pakistan Women Cricket Team's tenure in the Commonwealth Games 2022 comes to an end after they have faced humiliation in their third consecutive match. Being placed in Group A, Bismah Maroof and co competed with Barbados and Indian women respectively in their first two T20s and managed none.
Women Cricket has been introduced for the first time in CWG history. Eight participants were divided into two groups to compete. Pakistan were placed among Barbados, India, and Australia in Group A.
Concerning the match, Pakistan Women were set to chase 161 runs but collapsed, falling short of 44 runs. Australia won the toss and elected to bat. They set up 160 runs on the board on the loss of two wickets, whereas, Maroof's ladies could approach 116 utilizing all balls and speared two wickets.
In an approach to winning at least a single game, tailender Fatima Sana joined to rescue but her 35 runs were not enough following mini contributions from the rest of the batters. On the other hand, Tahlia McGrath was Australia's top-scorer smashing 78 from 51, followed by Beth Mooney's 70 from 49 balls, respectively. Both the batters stayed not out.
Their campaign for the Commonwealth Games 2022 is finally ended. Not much, but all that the women in green get is bashing from the Pakistan Cricketing fraternity. Drop your comments if you think the team is at fault, or this is the system keeping them behind?
