Pakistan's key bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has been ruled out of the first and second ODIs following his knee injury, still in recovery mode. The bowler suffered the injury during last month's Test against Sri Lanka and is not yet fully recovered.
Babar Azam, during the press conference before flying to the Netherlands, hinted that the injured bowler might miss one of the ODIs, and his recent statements have confirmed the stance. According to Babar, it will be an opportunity to evaluate the youngsters.
"We will not become complacent here, and the players are ready to express themselves on the ground. In the absence of Shaheen Shah Afridi, this is an opportunity for youngsters to come forward and showcase their skills,
"We are looking forward to a good contest between bat and ball, and I am hopeful the fans will turn up in numbers to witness the series."
It must be noted that the three ODIs are scheduled to take place on August 16th, 18th, and 21st sequentially at VOC Cricket Ground.
