Injured Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is officially ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Earlier, multiple reports revealed his exclusion from the team; however, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) denied all the rumours, saying he is not yet ruled out from the event.
The board further mentioned that his injury is being assessed at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore and revealed the official decision would be taken in a day or two. With a day passing since the BCCI made this statement, the decision has been officialized regarding ruling Bumrah out of the World Cup.
Indeed, missing out on the toe-crusher, who suffered a back injury last month, will serve as a huge setback for team India. The men in blue struggled without his services in the Asia Cup 2022 and were out of the tournament in the Group Stage.
Recently, he was ruled out just from the ongoing India vs South Africa series and was replaced by Mohammad Siraj. As he is now no more part of India's World Cup campaign, there are possibilities that Siraj will replace him in the much-awaited tournament too.
It must be noted that he is the second Indian cricketer to have been ruled out of the T20 World Cup after Ravindra Jadeja. India will start their World Cup campaign against Pakistan on October 24th.
