Monday's win against Bangladesh Women's Cricket team has put the Pakistan Women's Cricket Team at the top of the Women's Asia Cup 2022 points table. Bismah Maroof and co kick-started the event's journey with a thrilling win against Malaysia women and made sure to carry on the momentum against Bangladesh in their second encounter.
They earlier thrashed the Malaysia women by nine wickets and have done the same against Nigar Sultana's girls. Earlier in the day, Pakistan won the toss and elected to chase. In-action bowlers once again did the wonders, grasping eight scalps on just conceding 70 runs in 20 overs.
The top bowlers include all the names of Diana Baig, Nida Dar, Sadia Iqbal, Tuba Hasan, Omaima Sohail, and Nashra Sandhu. Baig and Dar amassed two wickets apiece at the economies of 3.67 and 4.75, respectively, bowling three and four overs. Omaima dispatched a single over, conceded four runs, and got a wicket.
Sadia, too, picked a single wicket but at a splendid economy of 2.50, yielding ten runs from four overs. Tuba, the star of Pak W vs Mal match, and Nashra, failed to clutch any scalp, but both conceded only 13 runs from four overs.
Later, the openers took charge of a speedy start as Muneeba Ali scored 14 from 19, whereas Sidra Ameen's 36 from 35 put them in a better situation to chase. After Muneeba departed, skipper Bismah scored 12 from 20 balls to bring their second consecutive win in the Asia Cup 2022.
