The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named Player of the Month for September 2022, and Pakistan's wicketkeeping batter Mohammad Rizwan has been lucky to grab the award. The right-handed opener was one of the nominees and has set apart India's Axar Patel and Australia's Cameron Green.
Just like always, the star batter has dedicated this award to the Almighty. He stated,
"I would like to thank Almighty Allah and express my heartfelt delight to all that enabled me to achieve this award.
Rizwan further mentioned that he is looking forward to carrying the momentum in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Despite the criticism, he faces because of the slow run rate, and failure to rotate the strike rate initially, he mentioned that he is satisfied with his performances.
"I want to give my high appreciation to all my teammates as they made things easy for me. These achievements boost your confidence. I am happy with my performance and I would like to take this momentum forward in Australia."
Dedicating his success for the flood victims of his country, the batter mentioned,
"I would like to dedicate this award to the people in Pakistan who are affected by the floods and climate change. Hopefully, this will bring smiles to their faces."
It must be noted that he has scored seven fifties in the last ten matches he has played. Starting with two 50+ scores in Asia Cup 2022, he has closed the month with another fifty (68) versus England on September 27th.
