Pakistan are not having an enjoyable time in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, particularly after two successive defeats against India and Zimbabwe, respectively. It nearly diminished their possibilities to qualify for the semifinal, however, with some ifs and buts staying.
The men in green, too dependent on other teams’ wins and losses to entitle to the semifinal, are also provoked to win their remaining matches. They contrived to whip away the Netherlands with a considerable margin, but two more grounds to conquer are left. Pakistan will now face Bangladesh and South Africa in their remaining games.
Apart from winning the remainder of the matches, it was a must for Pakistan that India win all their games. However, Rohit Shram's XI could not uphold against South Africa during their Sunday game. Despite one of the scenarios no more useful for Pakistan, there still are expectancies for them to qualify for World Cup 2022 semifinal.
Alongside prevailing against the Tigers and the Proteas, Pakistan will now desire to see Zimbabwe fail in all their remaining matches. They will hope for India to win against Bangladesh. In case the men in blue manage to triumph against Shakib Al Hasan and co, Pakistan’s next chance to qualify for World Cup 2022 semifinal would be seeing SA vs NED either getting washed out or the Netherlands winning.
