England Cricket Team named a 15-player squad for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand and has left out the Pakistan series star Rehman Ahmed. The youngster's exclusion from the squad has turned out astonishing for the lookouts as he rocked during the three-match red-ball series in Pakistan.
He plucked seven wickets throughout the game with the courtesy of a five-wicket haul in the hosts' second inning and also became the youngest player to bag a five-wicket haul on his Test debut. Rehan, grabbing the record, also broke the record of Pat Cummins to become the youngest test debutant to five wickets in an inning.
Notably, Rehan was not named in the initial squad for the Pakistan series but was added during the training sessions in Abu Dhabi. He turned out a vital cog for his side as a bowling all-rounder with leg-break tactics.
The reason for his exclusion might be a lack of experience since, before making it to the squad against Pakistan, he has had played only three first-class matches for Leicestershire. England are making sure to manage their spinner carefully.
