A top-notched game between South Africa vs Australia - it is not the first time Temba Bavuma and men have depicted their potent in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Their first accomplishment might have been in a warm-up game that came vs Pakistan but it clearly portrayed the flair they hold in both the departs; batting, and bowling. The Proteas earlier showed how dangerous they can be with the bat and today, despite losing the World Cup opener against the Aaron Finch-led men, they won the hearts bowling all by their courage.
After opting to bowl first on winning the toss, Finch's bowlers sustained a substandard chase of 119 runs to go for. It looked like a piece of cake with shattered hopes for the Bavuma and team but no one would have anticipated that his bowlers may make it possible. The victory was almost close or closest but the last over thriller changed things upside down.
Australia lost the top-order and later were being reliant on Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell respectively. After playing their not-much-effective part, they had to bid farewell to the field. Later, Marcus Stoinis and Mathew Wade took charge of the field - until then, things looked favoring South Africa.
After SA was soaring on optimism to kick-start their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign with a win, they induced Anrich Nortje, a big name from the Indian Premier League (IPL), to dispatch the last over. With Stoinis and Wade on the field, looking for ways to make it possible, Stoinis went for a four straight on the ground on a full-length delivery on the second ball of the last over. Later, he did the same but this time, on the off-side on a good length delivery that pulled them to the victory.
Finally, following the heart attacks of the Aussie fans, that turned into heartbreaks for the Proteas devotees, Aus won the game by two balls and five wickets.
